Thailand Elite-Visa still relevant today?

As the title itself explainatory, I honestly think it's all BS!!! With this Visa, I don't have any lee-way in negotiating with the Immigration Department for a return from Singapore. Why then, would I still continue to hold on to this BS? Might as well feed it to the dogs. Anyone having a similar experience in this forum? Please feel free to give your 2 cents worth.

Really!? So, because you have an Elite Visa, you are immune against Covid-19. Yeah, I always knew it was something special with those visas. ????????????????

How many years do you have remaining on your Elite visa?

Maybe you can negotiate with Elite visa to extend the final date for the period of time you were prevented from entering the country.

They are extending everyone by 6 months.

It's working out ok for me, I'm in Thailand already, with the extra 6 months of membership added on due to COVID I won't need to leave until about May 2025 ????

If its any consolation to you, though I'm actually living here in Thailand, if I was cought outside the country during the pandemic, I would probably be in the exact same boat as you.

It is easier though when you only pay 1900bht for a year in a provincial IO with not an agent in sight.

Was maybe relevant depending on your situation and plans.

It's DEAD now unless :

- You plan to STAY in Thailand for long with NO travel at all, for years.

Or

- You accept the numerous changes in travels requirements, paperwork, quarantine, bans, etc. And now a 100.000$ assurance... I wonder if it's legal to change so much the terms, but i guess yes. Bad deal. Next ?...

Not to mention the minimum for TEV is 5 years, you can be sure nothing is sure for traveling in the years to come, as it looks the world react...

Others visas, or agent, looks better now.

While that's true the problem is they advertise it as offering residency - they're still advertising it now as that when clearly it's not.

You're right there, I just read something that says people on the Elite visa will be able to enter the country before the rest of them ????

How long can one stay in Thailand with the Elite visa? Max consecutive days?

I stayed for just over 5 years without leaving once.

Forget about days, this is measured in years and there is no limit.

You can renew your passport in country every 10 years via your embassy then pop along to immigration every 5 years and get the new 5 year visa sticker and never need to leave the country at all.

Insane. Thanks for clarifying.
