snoop1130
Police calls on public to help end scourge of motorbike racers By The Nation A reward of Bt50,000 is being offered in exchange for reports on motorbike racers in a bid to rid the city of this nuisance. Assistant national police chief Pol Lt-General Damrongsak Kittiprapat said police swooped on motorbike racers who came out once lockdown measures were lifted on June 20. So far, 109 of them have been arrested, 11,743 motorcycles and 208 cars seized. Also, in a bid to tackle the problem at its root, police have also arrested 3,088 owners of garages that modify motorbikes and 98 social-media influencers. Penalties include a fine of between Bt1,000 and Bt2,000 as well as 15 days behind bars. Those wishing to report motorbike racers can record a video and send it to the Royal Thai Police’s social-media page or call the 191 and 1599 hotlines. 'call the 191 and 1599 hotlines' They don't answer 191 at night when you call it. Not in Udon anyway. In-laws called twice in the past and B-I-L's wife once as well. No bloody answer. 1
Popular Post Misterwhisper
I have observed at least 200 different races going on right in front of my house on the main road today. Please transfer my reward a.s.a.p., thank you very much. But honestly, anyone can "report" anything. But how do I prove that what I reported actually was a race and not just everyday Thai driving behavior? 2
rkidlad
Ask the megalomaniac who has the image of his face blown-up behind you, RTP. He knows the answers to everything! Oh, and he has the emergency decree, too. So no excuses.
Popular Post Pilotman
So a bunch of joy riders flash by on their motorcycles at 140 + kph. You pick up your phone and explain all this to the person on the other end. meanwhile Flash Harry and his mates are 30 km away having a beer. Yep, that will work. The Police are well aware of the joy riders on the 331 not far from my place, because its a regular thing, every Saturday and Sunday night, without fail, you can almost set your clock by them, if you were awake, so it wouldn't be too difficult to catch them now would it. The irony is that there is a 24/7 Police post not 5km down the road. Edited July 2, 2020 by Pilotman 6

Popular Post Geoffggi
As has been said many times over the problem is there is no deterrent for road traffic violations for Thai's, they get fined what they can afford which is no deterrent at all ....!!!!
Deli
Encouraging to snitch for money. They should reactivate some STASI retirees in the country for this purpose. Let them race, it's called freedom.

Racing belongs on racing tracks, not on public roads. Your reference to the STASI is ill-placed, irrelevant and bizarre.
bloodyholly
“So far, 109 of them have been arrested, 11,743 motorcycles and 208 cars seized.” not bad going for thirteen days... now if they could only continue this success rate for a full year
Myran
Punish.The.Parents. If Somchai runs the risk of having to pay 20.000 baht if his brat gets caught, you can be damned sure the kid's not going to have access to a modified bike.

Robin
The answer to this is easy and has been said before; Arrest them, confiscate their bikes and crush them. Fine the riders and spectators (or their parents,) a significant sum 20,000 Baht for the first offence. let the arresting RTP keep half the fines... Problem would be solved in 3 months, and the roads a safer place. Neither Prayuth or RTP have the will to do this, however popular it might be with the public.

angy
it will be easy to find the modified motorbikes in the day, they are using that noisy bikes all the day. Why police don't check and seize that motorbikes that are normally on the roads? I can see many of them in Pattaya and nobody cares of noises and pollution.
