acenase
How on Earth are they going to process us visa runners wanting to renew our visas, tourist, student, or retiree visa? Can I process my retiree visa now or do I have to wait until the 30th? And will I have to quarantine in Laos and then quarantine back in Thailand? Or can immigration convert me from tourist to retiree without a border run?
ubonjoe
What type of visa entry did you have before you went on the amnesty? If it was tourist visa did you apply for a 30 day extension of the 60 day entry from it? I assume you are wanting to apply for a 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) to qualify for a extension of stay based upon retirement. Here the requirements to do a application for one. http://bangkokimmigration.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/08-edit_NON-O.pdf It is unknown at this what what will be required when border crossings to Laos open. Might as well go in and try first - then see what they say about the 30-day extension, "change of visa" to a Non-O based on retirement is possible, etc. Edited July 6, 2020 by JackThompson
