Non-O and insurance

Featured Replies

Hi, I need to leave Thailand soon to attend to same matters overseas. I'll probably need to remain overseas for some time given the travel situation coming back into Thailand, that's ok with me. I think I read sometime ago that non-O visa holders do NOT need 100,000USD medical insurance (covering COVID-19) to re-enter. Does anyone know if this is true, or perhaps there have been changes in the regulations in the meanwhile? Thank you!

The $100k dollar insurance applies to everybody at this time.

It will probably go away later when the emergency situation ends.

No, if you have non-o visa  you do not need any insurance. I talked to the Immigration  in Nakhonsithammarat  recently.  But they can put me in quarantine in 2 weeks or a month.

Good luck.

That is not correct info for a entry to the country at this time. I think they were confusing that with insurance to apply for a extension of stay based upon retirement if you started with a non-o visa.

The quarantine is for 2 weeks from when you enter the country.

Yes all foreigners need the insurance before approved to fly into Thailand.  Period.
