Sorry we haven't. I crossed the channel every week in a truck and the process was computerised then. You should have seen see the tail backs a glitch or industrial dispute could cause then - now we are talking 11500 trucks per day....and turning the A2 into a truck park

the bits of paper wether in paper or bits (Judging be your post, I suppose you didn't understand that pun?) are still tax and duties that have to be paid.

Iy is quite clear by the sudden purchase of this land that the government realise even if things run "smoothly" - the amount of tailbacks created at Dover etc are going to reflect incredibly badly on the government.

On the upside, this is going to create thousands of jobs - bureaucrats - tp process all these bits.

If you meant bits as an eighth of a byte, you need to make your puns clearer or they are useless.

New infrastructure? Well that would be a good place for us to collect all those tariffs being imposed because the EU won't do a deal. It's better we collect them for ourselves rather than as we previously sent most of them to the EU's crooked coffers. If however as still predicted by the Remainer doomsters, the whole of the trade with the EU will completely dry up and there will be no trucks at all, then it's back to the drive-trough.

Either way, decide whether your tailbacks would be due to the lack of new customs sites, or glitches of something, or belligerent French industrial action, or holiday traffic overloads, or road accidents, or suspended ferry crossings, or Extinction Rebellion blockades, or whatever. Sound like some new lorry parking is a good idea.

The UK Government contract for a new public information campaign ahead of the end of the Brexit transition period found Leave voters are less likely to prepare for the nation’s exit from the EU because they “don’t believe in any potential negative consequences”.

????

There are some folk who were so brainwashed by the previous Project Fear propaganda that they still don't understand the new renaissance which is imminent. Would you believe it, but some of them are still here on TVF, wallowing in self pity and spite. The new public information campaign will cheer them up somewhat.
No you euros though, you are all going to have plenty of negative consequences.

Nothing that Brexit promised is going to be delivered in any meaningful form other than us leaving the EU. No benefits will flow from this and we'll all end up considerably worse off.

We will be back to being the sick man of europe.

You are obviously an acute case of indoctrination. Probably a touch of Stockholm Syndrome picked up in Brittany too. Never mind old chap, keep watching the adverts and you won't feel like the sick man of Europe anymore.

It's not just me, it's informed people in the UK - those pesky experts Brexiters so  despise as they know so much better.

Elites, edjumacated, ex-spurts and econotricks are often deservedly belittled and despised.

Get used to it, just like Brexit.

You know I often wonder why it's never occurred to brexiters that not listening to the people who actually know what they are talking about might be a bad idea

Polls in the UK now indicate that 64% of the British public want to stay in the European Union. The government seems to completely ignore this and refuses to comment on it.

pity they didn,t get off their backsides and vote when they had the chance.

Sorry, NOT the end of next year, but the end of this year. 5 1/2 months to go.  You really think a trade agreement between UK and EU will be finished AND passed through all 27 parliaments of all EU member states ?

yes

You gov are one.. they predicted the referendum result.

It seems that when someones beliefs are shown to be wrong, they dont change their mind, they just ask for a reference or source.

The fact they can't do this for themselves just underlines the paucity of their thinking.

YouGov are on the Brexiteers list of ‘bias’ organisations - it’s quite a long list !

a deal with the EU - it involved no tariffs - you have no idea what's going to hit the UK.

Why do you bother - you have zero chance of making it sink in !

If The Sun says it’s going to be fine, it’ll be fine !
