The US government sent me my Covid-19 stimulus money into my bank account from me filing my US Tax Return. Qualifying Thais are issued a special Welfare Card, similar and in addition to their Thai ID Card, which can then be used as DEBIT CARDS in Thai ATMs. Apparently the funds are only available for a limited time which may answer the question as to why people rush the ATMs a few days after the funds are released.
