A woman dressed in pink and armed with a pistol showed up at a gold shop in Bangkok’s Klong Sam Wa district on Thursday (July 30) with the aim of making off with a fortune.

Unfortunately, her attempt at burglary was foiled when the owner locked her in and waited outside until police showed up.

The 39-year-old told police that she had taken a taxi from Minburi to the gold shop because she was desperate and had no other option but to steal gold.

Officers from Khannayao Police Station have said further investigation is necessary due to suspicious points such as the gun being owned by the woman’s boyfriend.

Sounds more like the shop owner thwarted it and then waited for the police to show up.

lol, no choice ... next time she can try a bank

Surprised she didn't shoot the lock off, and leg it. Or worse. Was it a fake/toy gun?

Kudos to the owner. Hope the rozzers turned quickly.

At 39 years old too old for a go-go bar, could have tried working for the money before going for the easy way out...

Thinking to herself: "that was a really dumb idea"

Well now She got an excuse, like every one else that does something wrong here .

But that doesn't make it Legal or Not Guilty. ????

Not so pretty in pink  :whistling:

So, really the police only showed up later-the owner was the one that thwarted the dastardly scheme

Thailand is potentially facing 25% unemployment (according to the Thai Chamber of commerce).

Much of this unemployment is well underway, there may have been no job to go to, to work for the money.

Desperate people do desperate things, crime of this nature is going to increase. We will see a lot more reports over the coming months. Some of the crime will be confrontational robberies etc.

This is the knock on impact of shutting down a country with a singular goal of ‘stopping Covid-19’ without considering the other consequences - Cure potentially worse than the disease.

Someone so desperate knowing the probable consequences is in fact desperate she will not be the last as people's choices dry up without any of this corrupted useless governments help ????
