BANGKOK(NNT) - Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, says a meeting of cabinet ministers today approved budget expenditure to mitigate the economic and social impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and considered measures to ease lockdown restrictions, to help attract more entrepreneurs to Thailand.

Gen. Prayut said the cabinet meeting approved the financial plan, under the economic and social restoration budget, in its first phase. Relevant units had screened the expenditure plan and worked together to ensure that it is in line with the current situation.

The meeting also considered measures to ease lockdown restrictions further. For instance, if entrepreneurs, particularly those in large businesses, want to enter the country, measures taken must be prudent while providing confidence and credibility.

The issue will be discussed with the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), and it will be clear next week. Relevant agencies have to make people aware of the country’s readiness. and ability to control the situation. But if the government considers that it is not ready, then that is another matter.

Concerning 71 soldiers arriving from the United States (USA) and another group of 32 soldiers arriving to take part in joint exercises, the Prime Minister said the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, Gen. Apirak, Kongsompong, had already given an instruction that all soldiers must undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine and follow all the rules and regulations. The joint exercises will promote cooperation between Thailand and other countries. He asked people to have confidence in the country’s measures and to help prevent a resurgence of infections.

I wonder when a plan will be revealed to mitigate the huge problems the cabinet has impacted on Thailand over the last 6 years?
