Diplomats, International NGO officials will have samples tested upon arrival

Featured Replies

Diplomats and international organisation officials will have their samples tested for COVID-19 and be quarantined upon arrival in the Kingdom, the government said. According to the statement signed today by Minister Mam Bun Heng, the decision was made based on the greenlight by Prime Minister Hun Sen on Tuesday.

Bun Heng said that it is applied for those who hold diplomatic visas of type A and B. Bun Heng, who also heads the Inter-Ministerial Committee to Combat COVID-19, lists seven requirements, including health certificates issued by health authorities in a host country to ensure they are COVID-19 free within 72 hours prior to their departure.

The samples of diplomats and international organisation officials will be tested at a special location upon their arrival, the statement said, noting that they have to wait for at least 24 hours at a hotel or lodging in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) approved by the Inter-Ministerial Committee and to conduct a 14-day quarantine at those locations, the statement said.
