For whatever reason, people who have earlier been infected by covid 19 and recovered, and then died from other causes, have been recorded as dying from covid 19. Early results of the current audit suggest that the number actually dying from the virus is 20k approx.

‘Excess Deaths’ in the UK during the COVID-19 period are over 64,000, so wherever it is you got you 20K from you need to go back and ask about the missing 44,000.

Most newspapers are unable to distinguish England from the entire U. K.

Usually that's the case isn't it.......  but no it really does look like there's been over-reporting of deaths in England.  The figures have been looking increasingly wrong lately given the low number of actual deaths in hospital.  It's one of the countries that has been relatively transparent with its figures so far.  The problem seems to be counting recovered patients, usually elderly, who recover then die some months later through other causes.  And also counting people who dies at home where covid19 is held attributable because they were frightened of going to hospital to seek treatment for a heart problem for instance.

Making unsubstantiated claims that numbers have been changed is a serious charge.  Continue to do so without giving a credible source and you will be suspended.

the infection rate is increasing (with deaths to follow) so to reduce potential panic they're going to obscure the numbers so people will return to work in person, which they believe is the key to restarting the economy. Unfortunately, the virus doesn't care..
