How many of you knew that A.C.Milan was actually an English club. Originally formed by a group of Englishmen as a cricket club, it turned to football. This could be the reason that A.C. Milan is even called that in Italy, whereas Inter is known over there as Internazional Milano.

From Google

The AC Milan football club was estabilished on the 16th of December 1899, its parents being three Englishman, Kilpin, Allison and Davies. They came to the idea when they were at a pint of beer, and they proposed it to two bussinesmen, Edwards and Nathan, and to another person, Mr. Barnett. Edwards was to become the first club president ever of the new Milan Cricket and Football Club.

Not a lot of people know that - it's stored for future use, thanks

well, you live and learn...I wonder how many Milan supporters will see it as an ENGLISH victory should they win it?

Wouldn't be Malcolm Allison's dad or grandad that started it?

Actually, someone did tell me that as well.

A.C. Milan (Alpha Cars) is not the only team on the European stage that has the English influence. Deportivo la Corona was started by a Spaniard returning from his studies in London, after spending much of his free time watching football. Their first match was a friendly against a team of crewmen from the British ship 'Diligent'
