Install split A/C without drilling holes in the house?

Is it possible to run a split A/C without drilling into the house?
For example: set the A/C unit box outside and run the tubing/wires through a gap in an open window to the blower unit inside (laying on a shelf). And seal the window air-tight.
Is this doable or any foreseeable problems?

Why? why? why? would you not want to Drill a hole through the wall and attach to the Air conditioner Unit?? Bizarre to say the least!????

Its a rental, and physical changes to the home are not allowed.

I'm happy to feed the plants leftover AC water, but the big box needs to sit outside while the air blower fan sits inside

Installing or replacing aircon will give more value to his room,

so he may very probably accept it  ????

The condenser unit may not look too bad in the room, just leave the window open so it gets enough draw! 

Maybe a bit loud in the bedroom though!

The best solution is to properly install it with a hole through the wall; ask the landlord - they may agree if you say they can keep the unit when you move out.

The main problem is that the blower unit needs to be wired into the mains electricity - it isn't safe to have it lying on a shelf. It needs to be earthed/grounded. 

 

If you want to do this, buy a stand-alone (portable) unit on wheels

Fill the hole in when you leave, taking AC with you.  A lot of landlords do their best to keep your deposit regardless of damage...

Thanks everyone! Appreciate all the responses to this bizarre out of the box question.

In short,
1. I've heard the portable AC units are useless & very loud hence why I was exploring this weird option.
2. Landlord had said house modifications were ok, but only for a new 2-year lease. Already on a current 1-year lease that will expire in May.
3. Yes, definitely don't want to give my landlord a free AC (larger size is nearly 40-50,000 baht), nor lose my deposit if thats possible. 

Will keep exploring other options. Thanks ????

A sales rep says the 18,000 btu one was too small for the living room specs (roughly 8m x 9m x 3m height). Its crazy how the AC's double in price above 18,000btu
