Sofitel, Almond organise clean-up

Featured Replies

THE Almond Group has combined efforts with Sofitel Hotel in the capital to clean up part of the city. The hotel venues and their surroundings have been subject to build-ups of trash and multiple road works, only to be then compounded by the flooding season, amid the pandemic.

In response, the organisations joined forces and took action to clean up their establishments, nearby roads and pavements in what they dubbed ‘the great clean-up’. CEO of Almond Group Luu Meng and Area General Manager of Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra Charles-Henri Chevet took the initiative to clean the area, with both calling on other businesses to organise similar action with the aim of improving the neighbourhood and attracting tourists.

Marketing and Commu- nications Manager of Sofitel Clement Perocheau said: “We have not asked for help during the clean-up, we have done it using our own employees, with the aim of improving the neighbourhood. We want to set an example by keeping the city clean.” “Sofitel is part of the programme called Planet – 21, an international programme which aims to protect the environment as well as the community,” he said.
