1 month left on my Non-B visa, what are my options?

So I've been "laid off" at my current teaching job, headmaster gave the order to not renew my contract.

 

So I have a few questions. If I find another job I can transfer my non-b visa and renew it without the hassle of applying for a new one right? This only work if the new job/school is in the same province correct?

 

Also, what if i run out of time and my Non-b expires or i quit early. Can I apply for a tourist visa or 30 day exemptions in Thailand considering the situation?

 

Any advice would be appreciated. Also I am a native speaker from Australia if that is relevant.
