Gang of three brazenly selling guns on Facebook and Line

Police in the Thonburi area of Bangkok announced the arrest of three Thai men who had an online gun running operation. 

 

Taken into evidence were a GSG .22, a .22 pen gun, a magazine and a lot of ammunition. Many tools were also seized.

 

They were arrested in the Petchkasem area west of the capital Bangkok. 

 

Sukkasem or "See", 25, handled advertising through Facebook and the Line application. 

 

Sajjawat, 32, and Phayungsak, 38, produced some of the weaponry in a workshop.

 

 

Investigators became aware of the operation after investigating a fruit site on Facebook called "Thammanoon Phonlamai" that led to a site on Line for vehicle spare parts called "AP Yanyon".

 

The latter group had videos of the weapons on offer. 

 

Daily News said it was a brazen operation.

What a sad state of affairs.

 

Just thinking...if guns are so "essential", as the gun lobby argue, shouldn't we all be issued with guns by the government?

 

There would be no more stabbings!

Not the best marketing strategy!

starting to go more by the Filipino playbook of making their own -  the Thai government should take advantage of the downturn to offer amnesty buybacks of weapons to get the numbers down of available guns (and prior to some fool billionaire paying protesters to cause civil destruction)..

"Gang"  is  stretching it a  bit  isn't it?

Looks more like they were turning replicas into working guns with a few modifications.

They certainly knew nothing of Workshop Safety.

Apart from the lath, i have more than this in my shed, should i worry

The government. like to teach them early, and a lot do get issued to them at a later date;

If i was Thai i would try to stop this; It makes me sad.

is the possession of firearms illegal in thailand? one reads about so often about shootings in thailand, i thought maybe the thai constitution has got its own second amendment!

That's it. Get your eye close to the scope so it smacks you on the eyebrow when you pull the trigger. It's ok, you'll only do it once.
