There has been a lot of discussion about leaving Thailand to teach in other countries, so I thought I would post this.

I am leaving my job in Busan, end of June to return to Thailand :o. I am looking for someone to replace me. Female or male, no older than 30 (not my requirement!). I Have taught in Thailand for two years previous to this and my Thai bf has come back and forth while I finish my contract. So I can help you with the transition, what to expect from leaving Thailand and coming here etc.

If you are interested please PM me.

You must have a real degree as well as signed, sealed transcripts. Here is the ad found on www.pusanweb.com:

I am not a recruiter, but I will still do many of the things recruiters do like, pick you up for the airport, be the go between for you and my director etc. I will personally train you for the job, and you can observe my classes. The job itself is very easy. You review what has already been taught by the Korean teachers.

The job is as follows:

salary: 2.0 million won (70,000 baht)

teaching hours: 2-8:30 (arrive at 1:30) You do not teach over 30 hours I am currently teaching 28 hours, which leaves at least one spare per day sometimes 2. There are 7 periods in a day, each 50 min long.

students: 7-13 years old (elementary to middle school)

class size: 1-10

vacation: 10 days

Current teachers: 4 Korean teachers and myself. You will be the only foreign teacher but the staff is very friendly and extremely helpful and will help you with whatever you need, whether in has to do with work or just general help, going to the doctors, paying your bills etc.

return airfair/health insurance/end of contract bonus/furnished single studio apartment (2 min from the school) are all included.

Hwamyeong is a new part of Busan very convenient with lots of restaurants, grocery store, subway, movie theatre, PC rooms, hiking trails and gym all within a 5 min walk of the apartment.

If you are interested please send your CV and picture to Morgan at [email protected].

If I find the right person and if they are interested I also have 3 private students that =720,000won a month(25,000 baht)

i'm not trying to be overly negative, or make life difficult for the OP, but i think it is worth noting that while 2 million won does convert to approx. 70,000 baht, it's a very low wage for korea....in fact, it's nearly impossible to make less.

It is the standard salary for a hogwan (language school). In Busan those who make more than 2.0 million either do not have an apartment included, have a lot of experience or teaching credentials, have been teaching in Korea and are on their 2nd or third contract or are in the country or smaller cities. If you go to www.pusanweb.com you will see that salaries can be as low as 1.7/1.8 million and 2.0 is very common. 2.0 is a basic job no overtime, no split shifts and no 'special commitments' etc. But by all means if people want to negotiate more on this or any contract go for it.

meme,

Sorry to be so nosy, but may I ask what kind of job you are going to in Thailand?

(I assume you are teaching there?).

I am going back to teach in the South, where I taught before. I am taking a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) online and I am getting married. The city that my bf is from and works is really chill so good place to work and study. I actually was able to get a job, which is amazing b/c can't start until November. So the fact that Thais (on Thai time) were able to plan that far in advance is shocking! :o
