COE-Process with Thai Consulate Frankfurt

Featured Replies

Dear members,

the Thai Consulate in Frankfurt doesn't answer an email from 2 days ago and it is also impossible to contact them through phone.

So I want to place here three question. Maybe someone can share his/her experience:

1. The website of the Thai consulate still show, that they want a ASQ hotel reservation with the first batch of papers (declaration form, marriage documents, health insurance). Is this really true? I read somewhere, that right now you do the hotel booking only, after you got offered a reparation flight to Bangkok!

2. My insurance company confirms that COVID-19 is covered, but they do not state "at least up to 100.000 USD" (because they cover all health issues unlimited). Does someone know if this will be a problem?

3. How long do you have to wait at the moment for the flight offering after you send the documents to the consulate/embassy here in Germany?

Thanks so much for your help!

I believe your first step is to go to the consulate and ask for the flight dates and if they don't have one scheduled yet to be put on a list to be notified when one is available.

From my experience (different embassy).

Yes, you'll need your ASQ hotel reservation. The ASQ hotels should change your booking as necessary. Mine changed 4 times.

It's up to the embassy to accept your insurance or not. I showed US Military TRICARE insurance with the words "comprehensive coverage" and "no coverage limit" highlighted. It took some explaining though.

The flight dates you will need to get from the embassy/consulate. Unfortunately, you will likely have to go there to get an answer. From my experience, the repatriation flight was two weeks after they announced it and had nothing to do with when you give your papers. For my flight, the embassy sent an email of certain days they wanted people to come in with the paperwork after the flight was announced.

I hope you make it.

Thanks so much....! Did right now a reservation with the Royal Suite Hotel Bangkok. Can cancel for free up to 5 days before and change the estimated day for free.
