Non-O extension options?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I currently hold a Non-O single entry visa valid for 90 days which expires at the end of November. My question is regarding the extension of this visa; What is the latest I can apply for the yearly extension? Can I use the +60 day extension and then apply for the year after that? If not how many days before visa expires would I need to apply (the later the better for me)?

I hope someone can help.

Thanks in advance.

Your visa cannot be extended. You would extend the 90 day permit to stay from it.

You could a apply for a 60 day extension and then the one year extension of it.

You will will need 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months in your name only or proof of 40k baht income on the day you apply for the one year extension.

You can apply for the one year extension up to 30 day early or 45 days at some offices up the day you your permit to stay ends. There is minimum number of days to do the application.

Ok thanks for your reply. So for example could I go to immigration the week before my 90 days is up and provided I have the 400k in Thai bank could I then apply for the 1 year and they would give me the 60 day extension while they review my application for the year, is that correct?

Thanks again.

Also could I transfer the money to my Thai bank just a few days before I apply or does it need to be in there for 2 months before I apply?

Thanks for your help ubonjoe ????

After you application for the one year extension application is accepted they will do a under consideration stamp with a report back date 30 days from that day or 30 days from the day you current permit to stay ends dependent upon the office where you apply.

When you apply for the one year extension the 400k baht must be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply.

If you do not have the +400K yet on your personal thai bank-account (a joint one is not accepted), you would need to do that first, as it needs to be seasoned for at least 2 months the moment you apply for the 1-year extension of stay.

When the 400K is on your bank-account, then you would need to apply for the 60-day extension of stay for reason of visiting your wife, this to provide you sufficient time to meet the 2 month seasoning requirement.

That application will be provided with start-date 27 September and a permission to stay till 25 November.  But do check with your local IO whether they would indeed provide it starting from 27 Sept because some IOs are still only providing it from date of application, even though the recently nation-wide issued InfoGraphic by Immigration clearly indicates that all extensions will have the 27 Sept start-date.  In case your IO would not honor that nation-wide policy, then just wait with your application till final days of the Amnesty, or do it earlier when it would still allow you to meet the 2-month seasoning requirement for your subsequent 1-year extension of stay application.
