Three Democracy Against Dictatorship, or red-shirt, leaders Weng Tojirakarn, Pichet Sukchindathong and Veerakarn Musikapong were released from the Thai Department of Corrections Hospital at 2pm yesterday (September 15) due to old age and on health grounds.

Metropolitan Police ready 2,000 officers to keep order at September 19 rally

The Metropolitan Police Bureau will draft at least 2,000 police officers to maintain law and order as well as facilitate traffic flow at Saturday’s (September 19) rally led by the United Front of Thammasat and Demonstration group at Thammasat University’s Tha Prachan campus in Bangkok, deputy commissioner Pol Maj-General Somprasong Yenthuam said.

Thai-US cooperation in HIV, COVID-19 vaccine development

BANGKOK(NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, and the Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) to the Kingdom of Thailand, Michael George DeSombre, have agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two nations in COVID-19 vaccine development in Thailand. The Public Health Minister says the Thai government is ready to support vaccine development by any institution, so that Thai people will have access to a vaccine, once one is developed.

DDC chief dismisses claim of Myanmar boy getting Covid-19 infection in Thailand

Chuan blames MPs for delaying 2021 budget

House Speaker Chuan Leekpai said on Wednesday (September 16) that the national budget for fiscal 2021 will miss its October 1 deadline because the House of Representatives wants more time to review all the documents. He said the delay cannot be blamed on the Budget Bureau.
