I opened a bank account in Pattaya some time ago but live in a different area now, I went to the local Bangkok Bank branch to get the letter required for the marriage extension but they said have to go where you opened it.

What are peoples experience with asking the local branch for the letter proving the funds that have come from overseas for marriage extensions? Should I ask around at a few other branches before doing the 4 hour mission to the original branch and back.

TIA

I use Krungsri. Opened in Rangsit, but no issues getting a proof of address letter, printed and stamped 12 month bank statement and a new bank card and passbook in Ubon, where i live now.

I think checking another branch is a good idea... can't see why they can't do it.

A friend just now informed me that the bank letter now takes a week to process instead of on the spot. You have to return to pick it up. Before pointing out difficulties with timing for Immigration, I just have to ask, does anyone know anything about that? I can't believe it, I think he misinterpreted something.
