PM accuses Western countries of interfering with internal affairs

Prime Minister Hun Sen has accused some countries in the west, especially powerful ones, of collaborating to put pressure on Cambodia to push their own political agendas. The statement was made in light of today being the International Day of Peace.

“As they did in the 1970s and 1980s, they violate the principle of equality, sovereignty between states, and the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries as enshrined in the UN Charter and international law,” he said. The European Union on February 12 announced its move to  partially remove the Kingdom’s Everything But Arms (EBA) trade status, after it determined that Cambodia has not done enough to mitigate serious and systematic violations of human rights.

On August 12, the EU  announced its official decision to partially withdraw Cambodia’s duty-free quota-free access to the 27-nation bloc. The EU launched a review of the Kingdom’s EBA status after Kem Sokha, former president of the Cambodia National Rescue Party, was arrested on treason charges and the CNRP was subsequently dissolved by the Supreme Court in November 2017.

Oh my, Hun Sen is upset that him being honestly elected as dictator and his honestly put into place government is not above board playing by international rules. Well I guess he needs to get out of bed with the Chinese as this is surely probably adulterating his decision making from being the good guy he has always been.

Given HS does not allow others agendas, they turn to countries that will help them.  It is not Cambodia they are after.  It is HS.  HS is not Cambodia, but he thinks he is.

Dictators and authoritarian despots use the same words, that of blaming foreign entities for homegrown repression. His life clock is running on a fast setting and he will be missed by very few when it runs out.

Dear PM, there are "Thai People" living in Western Countries also and if you are happy that

Western Countries keep buying your exported products then you have no choice but to

accept their criticisms. That's life!
