BANGKOK (NNT) - The International Institute for Management Development has raised Thailand up one place, to 39th out of 63 nations, on its annual ranking of digital competitiveness.

At a meeting of the National Space Policy Commission, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wonguswan, it was noted that the increase in ranking is a reflection of Thailand’s success in digital development, on which the government has contributed significant effort in search of concrete results. Gen Prawit added that, on top of honing its digital competitiveness, the government is supporting the realization of a central policy and planning organization for space matters, in line with the Space Operations Act, as well as enhancing the country’s capabilities in the space industry.

Gen Prawit underlined that all relevant bodies must work together, while keeping in mind the ultimate objective of digital development for economic and social improvement benefitting the user.

Only another 39 steps to go then Gen' .. if Thailand were a football in space team they'd be bottom half of the table just in that little gaggle that flirts with relegation back to earth ..
