Government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri

The government is considering how to further ease travel restrictions for people who want to enter Thailand for business or investment purposes.

Easing entry for businesspersons would help lift the economy, which is sagging under the impact from Covid-19, government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said on Monday.

The Centre for Covid-19 Administration Situation has so far permitted about 11,000 foreign businesspeople and work-permit holders to enter Thailand. All went into alternative state quarantine for 14 days when they arrived in Thailand.

The centre has also given the green light for long-stay foreign visitors to enter Thailand from October 1 on Special Tourist Visas. The tourists must undergo alternative state quarantine for 14 days.

As I am a business person I can give you an advice, Khun Anucha: No foreign company is willing to pay 14 days quarantive for it's representative when they need to go for business talks to Thailand for a few days.

Simply ask for a negative test before departure in the country of origin, then for another test after arrival in Thailand, and let to visitor stay in his hotel till the local test shows a negative result.

In 2014 when the coup happened, foreign business owners had a hard time getting into the country.   Can't imagine there are many left thanks to cha cha and gang in green.   Quarantine is will only suit those who wish to stay for the months or years.

You are as wrong as you can be.

Many lands for sale in Patong.

Would never normally be.

And the Chinese buy and never give back.

Thais are left completely alone by this government even after coronavirus.

Don't care for anything if they can buy these perfect spots.

And after thais can work for Chinese for 15000 bath a month.

They should block the airport so no international flights can go in with anything else than regular tourist.

Common sense never did prevail.

As you say let the business men/women come, with certain caveats.

A clear test proved at the home embassy before travel, a clear test after arrival, then allow business to continue.

If private movements are required then so be it, the meetings take place in designated hotels etc and no free tours around red light areas.

Just admit this is like a slightly worst Flu infection.  Publish the amount of people that have flu and how many die.  Also, publish the number of  people who die from all causes.  Establish a bit of looking at the world not just this virus.

There is an interesting article in the BP today. The title is "Reopen now or face collapse". Worth reading.

Here I’m asking again what’s the relation to virus who you are what your business or job is? The greed for money and discrimination always will go under any kind of covers we can call it, which is called covid-19 at this time.
