I dont have the answer to your question but I have one for you.

What is your nationality ?

Indeed, if you are a chinese national and that you apply for a tourist visa it seems logical that they request your return ticket...

I apply for most of my Tourist visa`s in Guangzhou and they only issue the visa if you have an onward ticket(for me its never a problem)anyway I know that Hong Kong has the same requirements.By the way I am NZ citizen

I'm Swiss. I'm going to apply for new tourist visa in next 2 weeks. I'm still don't know where is the best place to go yet. I wanted to go to Penang but the price for flight ticket that I can get, it's the same price as flight to Singapore.

Do you think apply tourist visa in Singapore will work?

The last visa I've got is Arrival Visa for 30 days. But the 2 before that were from Penang and Kuala Lumpur.

I'm afriad that if the Thai Embassy in Singapore see this, they won't give me new tourist visa because of long stayed in Thailand.

By the way, my passport that I will travel this time will be my new temporary passport. Will they ask for to take a look the old passport?

Philippines = Yes, most definitely

....And you'll need a lot more than just a return ticket at this embassy and you'd do well to cross it off your list.

If your passport is a valid passport, they will not ask to see the previous passport.

You seem to say it is a temporary passport, this might mean you need to have the old one with you and then they might ask to see it.

I don't think that the Thai Embassy in Singapore asks for a flight ticket out of Thailand although for a tourist visa it seems to me to be a reasonable request....

If they really ask for a ticket, surely you will need another visa run after your 90 days so maybe you could buy a ticket timed as such ?

If you are trying to make things cheap, I think you will find Penang cheaper for accomodation although flights might be the same cost to Singapore.

Cambodia=Aranyaprathet immigration bureau also asks for a ticket/travel document to any country outside Thailand not exceeding 30 days from your entry to Cambodia and coming back to Thailand on the same day.  This new rule has been a month now.  Be careful not to buy ticket from the Travel agency at Aranya as you will be charged twice the price of the usual price to Malaysia.  An electronic ticket to Penang/Kuala Lumpur Malaysia is enough document to show that you will be granted visa/30-day tourist stamp.
