Special Tourist Visa Dead for Europeans as of October 9

Featured Replies

Today the embassy confirmed that 0 people have successfully applied for the STV (due to the lack of insurance offerings for that type of person).

Today the embassy killed the special tourist visa for europeans (high risk countries) yet ...left all other visas in place (so other people in the same country can still enter). Makes sence ...

Cancelled officially for the public already here:

https://www.thaiembassy.ch/Content/Embassy/163.html

//Edit:

FACT CHECK

False topic title, ie fake news. The STV has not been declared unavailable for for Europeans.

As per edit note.

Where does above webpage say embassy confirmed zero people have successfully applied for STV due to inability to get insurance?

the information in red, copied from the swiss embassy webpage linked above, shows the program is still active, simply not available to applicants in switzerland.

9. ONLY people travelling from low risk countries, Switzerland is currently listed as a high risk country. Effective date to be confirmed. Non-Thai nationals who hold valid Special Tourist Visa (STV)

THANKS for the info.

The list of semi commercial flights show many airlines that will start

operating flights to thailand, 3 times a week, starting around 18 october.

so just need to wait another 2-3 months. and things will be more relaxed.

Several off topic posts and replies to them have been removed. The topic is not about wearing masks. I you want to post about that do it in the Corna 19 forum.

I would say that the STV was stillborn, rather than dead!

"So, there’s no need for those refunds, because their trip is not cancelled, it’s just delayed.”

Goes on to say.....

"So basically the Thai Government now decides when is convenient for you to take your trip and any previously made payments are just held until they deem it to be the right time to make good on their service sold."

Conclusion

The Thai authorities must live in a fantasy world if they think this game of bait and switch with tourists can be played on a repeat basis.

Couldn't have put it better..... ????

Meanwhile, from the same site, showing how it can be done....

There are at the moment 12 foreign airlines allowed to fly to Thailand. Most likely the thai government will use Thai Airways for repatriation flights for thai nationals only, and foreigners who are allowed to apply for a CoE can book a flight with the other airlines. These airlines are also flying out of Thailand every week. No one has mentioned commercial flights. Yet.
