Honda Grom vs MSX

Featured Replies

I noticed that Honda have the Grom on their website but it looks almost identical to the MSX in terms of looks, is it or is it just my imagination?  Are there any significant differences, the specs look almost identical to a novice like me.

Just wondered what is the value in marketing them separately, must be a reason but I can't see it LOL

I think they are the exact same bike  just named differently for different markets/regions.

In Thailand (Asia?) they used to call it Honda MSX

In Europe it was called Honda MSX Grom

In America it was called Honda Grom

Now in Thailand they also call it Honda Grom. It comes with 5 gear manual gear box now, previously it had 4 gears and an auto clutch.

It used to be MSX or Grom depending on where you are in the world... but seems like the Grom name 'stuck' in the US

so now it's being renamed Grom for all region

The Thai MSX always had a clutch lever....  but only 4 gears It's the older Kawaski KSR min ibike that has auto clutch

the *new8 Grom's new engine has 5th gear and new body styling
