Travel insurance- Thai General Insurance Association

Featured Replies

I plan to apply for a 60 days tourist visa to enter Thailand next month. US$100,000 coverage of travel insurance is the requirement.

I have found this website-  Thai General Insurance Association. Has any one bought travel insurance online there? No choice of tourist visa but STV, which is quoted instantly 3840 Baht for 90 days.

Is the price acceptable? Is the coverage fine for tourist visa? (90 days insurance coverage is fine for me, as I may extend my stay for 1-2 weeks later.

Any other suggestion of insurance provider? Thank you

I think many people have used it to apply for a certificate of entry already since it was announced and the link being posted on some embassy websites.

I just tried the site and was able to choose, 30 days, 60 days and more.

They apparently have not updated the site yet to show the new single entry tourist visa and other recent additions to the qualifications to apply for a certificate of entry.

If under 70, might like to consider this https://safetywing.com/nomad-insurance

Unlike the tgia policies it will cover non-COVID emergency health care as well. Tgia covers only COVID so of little use except in the unlikely event of getting COVID. Much greater odds of having an accident while here etc.
