hi,

I got the opportunity to work as in intern near Bangkok.

My contract lasts for 12 weeks. After that, I would like to travel around Thailand & Asia for about 6 weeks.

I would like to book the flight back home from bangkok in advance.

Do you see an issue with getting a visa? I guess the first 12 weeks are ok, but afther that? The non-imigrant B is valid only for 12 weeks.

What about this 120 day waiting time?

Am I right that a non-im B two entry would solve this problem? Cos i just have to leave the country after ~11 weeks and can enter again having another 12 weeks? Since I am from Switzerland, I think I won't get a 2 entry B visa as I read somewhere here in the forum.

Would it be possible to leave the country after 12 weeks, travel around asia outside thailand and comming back as a tourist => 30 day. Does this harm the 120 day waiting time rule?

Thank you very much for your help!

I don't know what "120 day waiting period" you are referring to. But, If you are no longer working after the first 12 weeks, I think you should be able to go outside of Thailand and get a Tourist visa. That should give 60 days and could be extended if necessary.

Thank you for your answer.

Sorry for the confusion.

I read that I am only allowed to stay in thailand only for 90 days withing a 180 (not 120 d'oh) day period.

Since I work for about 90 days I don't know how this rule will affect my holiday/travel plans.

Ok, I understand now. The 180 day or 6 month limit is for people entering on "visa exempt" entries. That limit does not apply to people entering with a visa. I believe you can go outside of Thailand and return for upto 30 days "visa exempt", then do again, or get a tourist visa for 60 days as I stated earlier.
