I have extended my Retirement visa for the past 7 years without any problems

But I always get a CURRENT - uptodate Embassy Letter (Cost Bht 1645 in June 2006)

I think I have read here - more than once - that Members use an Embassy Letter

for subsequent Years - That a CURRENT Embassy letter is NOT necessary?

Is that CORRECT?

Can you share your recent experience please

Thanks

Bill

As long as your passport number and adress is the same, most immigration offices will accept the same letter (show original and they keep a copy).

Problem is that last time Immigration kept the Original and I have the Copy !

Will they accept that situation - in your experience?

Late Oct 06 I used an old embassy letter with old passport number and old address. No problem.

For the last several years I've only had copies to give them. They have the original in my file.

Sorry I don7T have the experience but if I was you I would go well in time (1 month before end of period of stay and try it (sign your copy) prepare your papers and hope for the best.

If they request the original pleadyour case. if they want a new one nothing lost go and get one

All asuming you are in Bangkok

I am up country and would not risk having to make an extra trip just for the Embassy letter which I can get by mail anyway

Good luck
