BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's economy may contract less than forecast this year but could perform worse than expected next year as the key tourism sector remains sluggish, the central bank governor said on Friday.

Fiscal stimulus measures are still needed to support Southeast Asia's second-largest economy, Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput told a group of reporters.

The strength of the baht currency also remained a concern while monetary policy will continue to be accommodative, he said.

Last sentence prophetic: “The strength of the Baht remained a concern...”

Shoulda made that the headline...

It might be less, it might be more,

we are the BoT, we can't be sure.
