ezzra
Any marketing schemes to fill those 10's of thousands of empty beds with warm bodies, for now though, because as soon as things will get back to normal those hotel's execs will revert back to playing gods again... Popular Post PingRoundTheWorld
What a ridiculous offer. It works out to 2739 baht a night if you stayed the full 365 days. 83,333 a month for a 35sqm studio with no kitchen. You could literally walk next door and get a similar sized condo with full amenities for less than 20,000. Not to mention there are multiple 5-star hotels in the area currently offering lower nightly rates. 3 3

khunPer
Hmm, 1 million baht divided with 365 equals 2.740 baht a day, and since it's only for intended for partial stays, it's more likely 180 days and almost 5,500 baht a day. You can find many reasonable excellent hotels in Bangkok for that kind of money. For example, a 50 square meter Junior Suite in Sky Zone at Baiyoke Sky Hotel is offered for little less than 4,000 baht for two including breakfast buffet; not a bad place to stay, talking from experience. And going up to almost 5,500 baht an 85 square meter Panorama Suite in Sky Zone that can accommodate a family of four, including breakfast buffet, is 5,300 baht. If you aren't using enough days, the daily 1 Million Baht Club-rates can be quite high; you can for example book Mandarin Oriental Hotel, with "private butler service", from about 12,000 baht, and 4th night with 50 percent discount. I would prefer more freedom, and if I need one full 2021-stay in a hotel room, I could probably negotiate a fair price at many fine places...????

Iron Tongue
Still can't figure out what they're announcing. Pre-pay 1,000,000 baht and get hotel stay? Isn't this a time-share scam?

Somchai Jackson
Good idea to let the rich in. Britains got the right idea about letting wealthy business people enter without quarantine as it is obvious that covid is a poor persons disease. And if the wealthy do get sick it's probably because some poor dude didn't follow the rules about social distancing, mask wearing, and washing hands.

Let's see how many packages they are actually able to sell. With limited travel and all, no one needs to pre-book a room for an entire year and condos offer a much better deal. Their target is to sell 100 packages, and the intended customers are large companies (i.e., not the same person using all 365 room nights), so it's not completely pie in the sky. The package includes club access (= breakfast plus nightly drinks and dinner), 200k hotel credit, a physical at Bumrungrad, a bunch of nights at their beach resorts, etc. It's not necessarily a great deal, but not totally unrealistic for an organization that normally uses a lot of hotel nights every year.
