A petition to stop the BBC from making the documentary, which is currently in production, has already reached more than 24,000 signatures.

 

The broadcaster said the programme, currently called Will My Puppies Make Me Rich?, will explore how young dog breeders are building their businesses.

 

The show will also look at how puppy prices have doubled in the last six months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

 

But a petition has been set up over concerns people may view the show as a “how-to-guide” on buying dogs for breeding and making money.
