I understand in most developed countries, there are companies that offer credit checks on a person or company.

Yes, it's the National Credit Bureau (NCB).

Branches all over, just need your passport, get a report in Thai or English in a few minutes.

 

However, I don't think you can check on others, you have to get them to order a report which I'm pretty sure can be sent direct to you.
