Concerns about the possible spread of Covid-19 in Bangkok from migrant workers from Myanmar were voiced after a video showed people without masks working at a sewing factory in Sai Mai district of the capital.

The area borders Bang Khen and Don Muang in the northernmost part of the city.

A video posted on "Survive Saimai" on Facebook showed health officials investigating.

It had been claimed that these Myanmar workers had come from Samut Sakhon on 17th/18th December. There has been an outbreak of Covid-19 there involving hundreds connected to a shrimp market.

Public health officials found that the migrants were all legal and had pink slips. They were being tested and isolated.

The public in Saimai were told not to panic.

OK I admit to being confused.

He 'who must be obeyed' says not to panic. It is all under control.

Bangkok governer says to wear masks outside.

Covid can be spread via surface contact. (Even toilet seats.)

What is the point in wearing a mask inside a factory?

Because you are in an enclosed shared space which is on of the most important places to take precautions.

None of those inspectors can speak Burmese and they bring in that poor gal to translate for them?

Shame they will make these poor workers the media scapegoat.

Yet !

No more tourists, no more cheap labour, no chinese to buy overpriced condos, high baht that kills exports...But 2021 will be a great year for the Thai economy.
