Speedo1968
Just having had a pacemaker fitted last week I was informed by the hospital / surgeon / read up on, what electronic devices to be aware of e.g. airport scanner / mobiles close to left ear ... I was not advised by the hospital / surgeon ( an American / Thai ), nor could I find in some online sites that induction hotplates should be avoid or allow a distance of about 70cms. That is what I normally cook with.
KhunKenAP
The newer ones should be protected from most outside sources, including airport scanners. Just stay away from Industrial type induction units. Ask your Doctor!

I know because I can never use them on a stainless steel surface because they start to heat whatever is uderneath them just as effectively as the pot on the top surface. I will no longer use an induction hotplate. Have never used it on a steel surface only outside on a stone surface.
