Non Imm. O Visa

Featured Replies

Good day,

I have travelled to Thailand many time over the last 10 years.

I have been applying for, and getting, a multi entry, 12 months, Non Imm. O visa  based on marriage to a Thai national.

I haven't been in Thailand since February this year because of some surgery I had to have, I now want to return January 2020.

Now I have applied for the same visa only to be told that the Thai Embassy, in South Africa, is only issuing single entry visa because of the Pandemic.

They advise that I can apply for an extension of the single 90 day visit while in Thailand.

Is it possible that somebody can please confirm  that multi entry visas are not being issued, that

the extension can be obtained, also where from, for how long and at what cost

Thank you for any advice.

Annual 12 month extensions available from your local immigration office with either evidence of 400k baht in a bank account in Thailand or 40k per month income brought into Thailand. All extensions cost 1900 baht

Can also get a 60 day extension from Immigration.

Nothing in the bank needed.

The embassy  in Pretoria's website does mention a multiple entry non-o visa but it may not to be up to date.

I could not find anything on the site with info about entering the country under the current covid 19 situation. I suggest you contact them about it .https://pretoria.thaiembassy.org/en/index

At the this time a multiple entry non-o visa is not that good of option since the border crossings are close and it is difficult to enter by air now.

You can apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage. You will need 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months on the day you apply or proof of 40k baht income.

You can also apply for a 60 day extension to visit you wife.

Many Thanks to all, the website does mention multi entry visa but with the pandemic these are no longer issued.

A follow up from the embassy informs me that I can get an extension in Thailand, but they do not know the cost.

I got a multiple entry in Los Angeles for $200 at the end of October.

Great, did you also have to get $100K covid insurance + 40K/400K THB for entire year(12mo) to get this or just for  initial 3 months?

The covid 19 insurance would only need to be valid for the 90 day entry the visa allows.

There is no non-o visa that allows you stay in the country for a year. You can apply for a one year extension of the 90 day entry from one. No covid insurance is needed for any extension of stay applied for at immigration.

My Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance covered that, they just wore a letter for me that was accepted by everyone.

A covid 19 test is required for all entries to the country. It does not matter what visa or a a re-entry permit for a extension of stay you have.
