Location for Covid extension (visa exempt entry) - still only MTT?

Featured Replies

I just need to confirm whether MTT is still the only Bangkok location to do Covid extensions for visa exempt entries.  I have seen reports of people getting Covid extensions at Chaengwattana, but I believe these have mostly been for other types of visa entry.  Any recent experience?

Also, what happens if a doing it a day or two late? I believe I had read before that this could be done if the 500/bt a day fine is paid...I would be willing to pay a day or two of fines to avoid the likely huge crowds this week.

Ubonjoe or anyone, what's the latest?

They are still done at MTT.

It is at the officer's discretion if they would do it it with a couple of days overstay.

Thanks, is it still counter K, wherever that has moved to? Last time I was there it was a big mess

Just to conclude this thread as well, MTT counter K was surprisingly quiet for being only a couple of days before the Dec 30 expiry of many Covid extensions.

The process was easy and quick, not unpleasant at all (as in previous experience). Just a matter of completing the forms as indicated by Ubonjoe.

They did ask us to show proof of online reservation, so that requirement is apparently still in place even though crowds were small.
