How to apply for thailand tourist visa from the uk?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am from the uk

Id like some information on how to apply for the thai tourist visa.  Id like to come to thailand around the begining of feburary on the 60 day tourist visa then extend for another 30 days at an immigration office once i am in thailand.

I reliase things are a little more complicated with the application process due to covid so would appreciate some help from members o make sure im doing it right.

Thanks for your help in advance appreciated.

I have started the process of applying for the certificate of entry at https://coethailand.mfa.go.th

I have also started the process of applying for the tourist visa at https://thaievisa.go.th

What i am unsure about is which 1 of these needs to be submitted 1st or should i submit them both at the same time?

Also for the certificate of entry i need to purchase insurance before i apply for the certificate of entry?

Does anyone have any advise on whats a good insurance company with this?

I will get a covid 19 pcr test from a private lab

How about the fit to fly certificate can i get that from my own doctor on the nhs?

Thanks again

Kind regards

You can do both at the same time. The COE can be pre approved pending your visa being issued.

Have you looked at the page on the embassy website.

You can apply for a single tourist visa at one of the honorary consulates in the UK if you can find one that has opened  to do it. More info about the tourist visa application is at the bottom of this page.

Thanks for the reply i had a look at those links.

It says you need to provide a travel booking confirmation to apply for the tourist visa.  How can i provide a travel booking confirmation when i dont know if the certificate of entry or the tourist visa will be approved? It seems a bit risky booking the flight before i know if its approved

Im thinking it should be the other way around get the certificate of entry and tourist visa approved then book the flight afterwards but that does not seem what they are looking for.

That is a standard requirement for a tourist visa application. Been the same for a long time now.

My advice, Book with Qatar Airways , I think they are still allowing you unlimited free change of dates for your flights.....

For Accomodationation after ASQ, Just book a hotel where you pay on arrival.

Cathay Pacific offers free booking changes also....I think.
