snoop1130
Dust situation in Bangkok better than last year BANGKOK (NNT) - The Pollution Control Department is closely monitoring the dust situation caused by burning activities in agricultural areas. The dust situation in Bangkok has improved from last year, as measures against COVID-19 have reduced the number of vehicles on the road. The Director-General of the Pollution Control Department and Director of the Center for Air Pollution Mitigation, Attapol Charoenchansa, commented today on the dust situation in the past week, saying there were fewer vehicles on the road in Bangkok, thanks to the disease-control measures announced before the New Year holiday, which included the work from home alternative. Some people in Bangkok also traveled to provinces at this time. Levels of particulate matter of 25 microns or less in diameter (PM2.5) were below the safe threshold. On Monday (Jan 4), PM2.5 rose to unhealthy levels because more people returned to Bangkok after the holiday. Nevertheless, the current dust situation has improved from last year because dust particles accumulated for only a short time. However, dust levels have increased lately due to open burning activities in agricultural areas in neighbouring provinces of Bangkok and other regions. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-01-05 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
Natai Beach
The dust. I have been to Bangkok hundreds of times. I can’t say the dust ever really bothered me. But the fumes, pollution and smog were off putting.

Hua Hin should be declared a disaster zone, the air pollution is so bad. ????
