BananaBandit
Soon after I got divorced (a decade ago) in the U.S., I received a letter in the mail from the local probate court. This letter included my divorce papers. Now this may be a dumb question, but it's an honest one: Are these papers the probate court mailed me considered an "original"? Or more relevantly stated: Are these papers good enough to present to the U.S. Embassy in order to get permission to marry in Thailand? uncleP
if they are like the ???????? embassy they don't care. the uk embassy staff told me they are not really interested but the Thai's insist on it. That said original docs posted to you are the only proof you have of divorce. Treat the US embassy the same as you would treat Thai Immigration service and make sure you cover all angles and you should be fine.
