New passport and 60 day covid extension

Featured Replies

I'm on a 60 day covid extension from TR60 (arrival date March 2020). My passport is full so I'm renewing it. When it arrives, what do I have to do in terms of getting the extension transferred?

You will need a letter from your embassy related to getting your new passport.

This form completed.Transfer Stamps To A New Passport

Copies of both passport photo pages. Copies of your visa, entry stamp and most recent extension stamp in your old passport. And TM6 departure card.

Could I do that next time I go to MTT (assuming the covid extensions continue) or do I have to go somewhere specific?

Normally stamp transfers are done at Chaeng Wattana immigration. But they may do it at MTT since you will be applying for another extension.

The officers at MTT seem quite nice but I certainly wouldn't expect any favours from them. I would expect to be told to follow the rules exactly so presumably I should just turn up at Chaengwattana with the required documents and take my position in the queue.

That may be the best way to do it.

Hello! I am exactly in the same situation. I am expecting to receive my new passport anytime now. I asked the Canada Embassy and they told me I don't need a specific letter to transfert my visa to the new passport. I hope they are not wrong.

I will do the transfert to Chiang Mai Immigration.

If I recall correctly the Canadian embassy will do a stamp in your new passport with info about it and your old passport.

I just had my Canadian Passport renewed last October, and Ubonjoe is correct, they just put a stamp into your new passport, stating that it replaces your old one. You won't have any problems with transferring your stamps to new passport.
