MiniVDO: A Korean man was arrested by police for overseas crimes.

A Korean man named Kim Em Suk was arrested and brought to Phuket after Immigration police were notified by Korean authorities that the man has fleet from Korea to Phuket. The man was charged with cheating a construction company in Korea of 343,000 US dollars or the equivalent of about 12 million Thai baht. The case happened since late 2004. Police investigation indicates that Kim Em Suk was hiding in Phuket before relocating himself to Trang. Phuket Immigration police then worked with the Trang police to bring the man to legal action and they will coordinate with Korean counterparts for his repatriation.

MiniVDO: Phuket Police seized 6,000 amphetamine tablets, the highest amount ever caught this year.

Six people, men and women, were arrested by Phuket City police and charged with drug possession and dealing. They were brought for a press briefing with about 6,000 amphetamine tablets as evidence. 12,000 baht cash, cell phones and gold accessories were also seized as evidence. The arrest of the six member gang took place following the first three’s arrest at a bus stand near Thalang junction. They admitted to police that they usually travelled to purchase the drugs from Laos at a cost of 300,000 baht for 6,000 tablets from which they were able to earn around 1 million baht profit in Phuket. They were reported to have had committed four crimes before their arrest.

MiniVDO: Peruvians drug dealers were arrested in Phuket with 1.6 kilograms of drugs in their stomach.

Two Peruvian nationals were brought for questioning at Phuket City police station after they were arrested with about 1.6 kilograms of cocaine. The arrest took place after the Thai Anti- Narcotic police were informed of overseas drug dealers attempting to smuggle drugs into Thailand through Phuket International Airport. They were reported to have planned to send the drugs to Bangkok and the island’s tourist attractions. On May 8th the two suspects traveled by flight MH 786 to the airport and acted suspiciously. Police then asked to X-ray them. The initial result showed abnormal objects so they were sent to Wachira Hospital in Phuket City where they let out as much as 1.6 kilograms of cocaine which was worth around 4 million baht.
