I'm about to switch from a tourist to an ed visa but am keeping an eye out for an announcement about covid extensions, because I'd stick with the tourist visa if it could be extended (I'd still study, but I wouldn't be so tied to the school's schedule). Anyway, if I do switch, will the fact that I'm then on an ed visa stop me from getting covid extensions in future?

You can also get a Covid extension for an ED visa.

But currently the Covid extension is only possible until 29th this month, as far as I know they didn't announce an extension to them yet.
