Travelling from Rayong area to Prachuap khiri khan & further south

Featured Replies

HI think of have a few days away down south, maybe further south Surat Thani and maybe Krabi, are there any travel/driving restrictions , i have looked here - Provincial entry and exit rules as Thailand eases COVID-19 control measures - TAT Newsroom

takes a lot of reading, not easy to work out if there will be restrictions, it would seem we are travelling from Rayong an orange zone through a red zone back into an orange zone, and then into a yellow zone.   any one done this journey in Feb,

from the site

Red zone - Samut Prakan: All visitors must show official documents to prove their travel was necessary. They are also required to register with the Mor Chana contact tracing application.  would that apply to just passing through on the main highway

orange zone - Rayong: Entry or exit documents are not required

Phetchaburi: Update info on entry/exit measures not available

yellow zone  - Surat Thani: Returning residents from the controlled areas (20 provinces) are to take the DMHTT precautions, and avoid public or crowded places.

Green Zone -  Krabi: Visitors from the other 76 provinces are to register with the QT14 and Mor Chana contact tracing applications, but do not need to enter quarantine.

as it's only for leisure travel, it's risky to travel such far and have problems with return in a few weeks time.

situation is fluid, turn for worse can happen at any time, with an illegal influx of more burmese. Your return route is along myanmar border provinces.

to prachuap is a comfortable one day drive, easier to come back home

thanks for the reply, i have been thinking the same, so it looks like its koh chang instead.

if i want to go south maybe i will wait a few months and see if the new ferry from Sattahip is feasible

We drove last week from Koh Samui to Udon Thani, with overnights in Pranburi and Khao Yai.  Obviously we had to pass through Samut Prakan on the way.

No road checks or any other indicators of restrictions in any of the provinces we went through

Just did this drive a few days ago. On Koh Lanta now. No check points at all. No restrictions unless coming from Samut Sakhon.

No tourists. Cheap hotel prices. It's lovely.

Going to Lipe in a few days and then over to Phi Phi as there are no backpackers or Chinese! LOL.

Now is the time to enjoy these areas.

If this helps anyone 3 days ago I travelled from Koh Chang to Korat (no red zones) No road health checks anywhere, same on return trip Except on disembarking ferry on koh chang temp check. ????
