The festival is normally held annually by Samphantawong district office and local businesspeople. However, as the Covid-19 outbreak has not yet subsided and could pose risk to the public’s safety, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration decided to call it off. A shame Thailand didn't react to the infection a year ago but decided to let it go ahead and reap the rewards. Since December 15, Bangkok infections are up 3.14% with no proactive testing, all based on hospital walk-ins. Shut down Chinese New Year travel. Let's NOT share the joy!
