NCC1701A
reminds me of one of my favorite TV shows, The Prisoner from 1967: "Number 6 is urged by yet another new Number 2 to run for his office in the forthcoming elections. Number 6 is surprised to hear that the Village even has elections but after some consideration, agrees. His platform is a radical one, posing all of the questions that he would like to have answered: where are they, why are they there, who is Number 1. His campaign seems to be popular with the residents but after questioning by a Village council, he is brainwashed into spouting the standard 'lines' and maintaining the status quo." https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0679179/plotsummary Edited February 9, 2021 by NCC1701A
sirocco
Well, we haven't finished seeing them roaming the streets of HH, but in photos, and the loudspeaker yelling on the roof of the van.

The first time I saw it was in the mid 1970s when it was shown again on UK TV. I've got the entire series on my PC. I've been to Portmeirion and stayed in the village. There's a programme I haven't seen before - 'The Prisoner - behind the scenes' on youtube. It appears to have been produced recently (in the past twenty years!) I'm just about to watch it now. I stayed there in a cottage for a couple nights with two Thai girls about 37 years ago. Nice weekend that was. The buffet breakfast overlooking the estuary was very nice. We went to a couple of pubs in the area and upon entering everyone was speaking Welsh. As soon as I opened my mouth with English all heads turned to look at us. It was like something out of the straw dogs movie. We found a quiet corner and started chatting in Thai and that really did it. It felt like we were progressing from Straw Dogs to the Wicker Man. We drank up sharpish and returned to the safety of our little cottage. Until recently The Prisoner was still viewable on YouTube. Every episode.
