webfact
PM admits government and BMA cannot delay electric train fares indefinitely Image Credit: BTS Skytrain Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha admitted yesterday (Wednesday) that neither the government nor the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) can shoulder the financial burden of prolonging the freeze on fares on the Green Route train service. Bangkok Governor Aswin Kwanmuang ordered the postponement of the fare increase, to a maximum of 104 baht from February 16th for the entire route, after protests from commuters and the Consumers’ Protection Foundation, claiming that the rise will increase the burden on commuters already hit hard the by economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. kingstonkid
Yes and it's only fair. How many people here are willing to run a business that loses money. People complain about the cost but I am sure the bts from khu khot to siam paragon even at 154 is still cheaper than bus or minivan or taxi
overt2016
Why not PMP? You staged a coup to bring happiness to the people. Public transport is exactly what it says. I am sure that the government [read public] put a great deal of money into the building of the train network. Why then is it allowing the "elite" to extract money from the public?
