Here's hoping it isn't a repeat of the "Thunderbirds" fiasco....

Some things are best kept (or filmed) in bathtubs, like the original Gerry Anderson series. :D

Remember "MarinAvision? :D

Generally speaking, all these Hollywood "remakes" suck Satan's pecker big time. :o

Wasn't it 'SuperMarionation" ? From Wikipedia :-

Supermarionation (a portmanteau of "super", "marionette" and "animation") is a puppetry technique devised in the 1960s by British production company AP Films. It was used extensively in the company's numerous Gerry and Sylvia Anderson-produced action-adventure series, the most famous of which was Thunderbirds. The term was coined by Gerry Anderson, possibly in imitation of Ray Harryhausen's stop motion technique.

Agree, the hollywood attempts at doing these things with live actors just don't cut it :D

Yeh me too, had a bunch of the toys as well.

For fun I picked up the 80's animated move at my 'local' DVD shop

Transformers: The Movie (1986)

I still have it at home somewhere!

And the toys! I think I got optimus prime for christmas 1986 or somwhere round that time, I think it was my 5th birthday

The original matrix!

Absolute quality!

I'm quite enjoying the remake of "Captain Scarlet" tbh.

Transformers does look the mutts though. Looking forwards to it.

Yes, you're correct! I'm confusing that with the "Marina" girl character of "Stingray!" :D

These things happen with age. :bah:

While we're on the subject

Can some one tell me the name of the really cool jet transformer?

He was white with red trim, bigger than the other toys, had a better build and material quality and looked like he was straight out of Robotek?

(and for those of us who carry useless trivia and information around in our brain instead of stuff like math) In the cartoon he's found encased in ice some where out on one of the poles. It turns out he and Starscream go way back to when they were scientists together. The Decpticons pressure him into joining them and doing dirty deeds but his conscious and morals are at odds with the decpticons evil. Eventually at the end of the episode he turns on his old friend starscream, saves the day for the Autobots and sacrifices him self somehow and is plunged back into the watter and encased in ice once again.

in other news i wish i could remember how to do Trig
