Popular Post ctxa
So long story short. The area in which my parking spot belonging to my condo unit is, they found some cracks in the wall and blah blah, and it is under renovation atm, meaning that I can’t park there. Solution from the Juristic office? Either park my car in the parking places which don’t belong to any unit and anyone can freely park (99% of the time used by somebody else), or park my car outside near my condo tower with the Bangkok sun and Bangkok heat hitting my car for as long as it’s parked there (and we all know cars + sun = not a good idea). They say that it’s only gonna be 20 to 30 days. But we all know a condo is not cheap, and I paid for this condo because it came with my own parking space, else I wouldn’t have paid for it. Yet they still don’t want to give me or anyone else affected by this renovations a temporary fixed parking space on the area on which everyone can park freely. My solution? Ignore them and some DIY ???? In order to fix a parking spot, the put a yellow paper in the wall with your unit number. Well, fire up Microsoft Word, yellow background, my unit number print it out and put it into the wall of one of those parking spaces in which everyone can park. 3 days already, it’s always empty for me. No complains from security guards and/or other residents so far ???????? What would you do if you were facing this situation? 4
Andy from Kent
Looks like you took the bull by the horns and got back your needed parking space. Congrats! I once stayed in a huge condo complex and a large grate in the driveway caved in and left this open hole,. The best the management could do was put a seatless, three legged chair in front of it for the next 30 days. At night it would have been helpful if the chair had headlights or some other warning means but here was none.

If you are leasing the condo, I would be seeking a rental rebate from the owner who can then pass that on to the owners corporation. If it's your unit, then I would approach the owners corporation for an alternative car space or compensation to park your car elsewhere. If the above fails on both account, park your car in your space as it belongs to you regardless if you are leasing it or own it. That should send them a clear message of defiance.

OneMoreFarang
I would make sure you give the security guards in that parking area tips from time to time. I.e. from time to time I give them all soft drinks, M100 and drinks like that when the guards change in the morning or evening. Even with lots of guards 20 x 20B is not a big investment and it keeps them happy. 1

Best of all would be a fictional unit number... or five, for good measure!
