Yet another province was infected with COVID-19 as the pandemic continues its march in Phnom Penh and Kandal in particular and eight other provinces in the country. Today, a total of 39 COVID-19 positive cases were reported by the Ministry of Health, affecting five provinces. The 39 cases comprise 30 Cambodian nationals, 7 Chinese nationals and 2 Vietnamese nationals.

They encompass infections in Phnom Penh where 22 Cambodians were found to be COVID-19, Prey Veng with 6 Cambodians tested positive in that cluster, Sihanoukville which has shown fewer cases past three days at just a single case involving a Chinese national, Kandal with 9 cases comprising 6 Chinese nationals, 2 Vietnamese nationals and 1 Cambodian, Battambang with 1 case involving a 30-year-old Cambodian female.

Besides Phnom Penh with 444 positive cases, Kandal has registered 49 COVID-19 positive cases, mostly linked to the gaming and entertainment centres in that province, Sihanoukville at 132 cases, Prey Veng with 23 cases, Kampong Thom 2, Kampong Cham 1 and Battambang 1.
